That must have been some dinner Jeroen, for you to change your mind so
quickly;-).

Full xyz gamut, wonder what you guys have in store for us at Philips (what's
the latest gossip for us simple folks not in the know, lol), as currently
even NTSC is a strech for non LED-BLU's and LED BLU's generally top-out
around 105% of NTSC for now at least, as far as I have read.

Guess that explains your interest in lasers...

As Charles Poynton pointed out in his IBC presentation (16 Kbit/s mp3's are
available somewhere at ibc.org), predictability is already lost as CRT's
(which tended to not stick to D6500 and related standards, out-of-the box,
anyway), are replaced with a multitude of display technologies, each with
their own respective characteristics, a point also very much stressed by the
EBU's Hans Hoffmann later in the same session.

The gamut of film being wider/different from that of CRT's couldn't have
helped Digital Intermediate in production either, so how to grade color for
display on one medium on another medium/display.

So, bring on glorious more than technicolor. Kodachrome is also recently
discontinued.
