True enough, Cliff, but it was the content owners rather than the cable subscribers that motivated this. The subscribers did not raise a big stink, and in fact the content WAS dropped with no fanfare. The reason being, either not a whole lot of people cared enough to create a loud noise, or those who did care found it relatively easy to switch to other shows instead. The fact that subscribers get up in arms whenever the major networks drop, or threaten to drop, their signal on the MVPD can only show that it matters greatly to the MVPDs to carry that content. By the way, I'm certainly not making any judgments about who is the most greedy party here, whether it's cable companies or the major networks. I'm just stating something that I think should be obvious. Network content matters a lot to MVPDs.
