It was the courts who found that the uses you stated above were

And your point is? You went off on the VCR tangent, and I explained that VCRs 
were permitted. In this case, instead, in the UK, apparently the Kodi box is in 
clear violation. You seem to be hung up on the point that the special interests 
always want to push their agenda. I'm not sure why you find that surprising. 
That's a given, Craig. Special interests always behave that way. Even to the 
point of greed becoming counterproductive. All that matters is what the courts 
decide.

Why do the MVPDs keep increasing prices?

The MVPDs keep increasing their prices because of people like you. People who 
continue to pay the higher prices. You need to take Microeconomics 101, Craig, 
to understand the concept of demand elasticity, or lack thereof.

Why is almost all high quality content moving behind pay walls.

That's most likely false. I think one can make the case that there has never 
been as much ad-supported, non-subscription TV content available, than today. 
You simply pride yourself in not taking advantage of it, but an ever increasing 
number of people are behaving otherwise.
