And I'm a stickler for consistency in arguments.

If properly functioning receivers have been demoed
in ATSC and DVB-T varieties, then there is no reason
to believe that ATSC receivers cannot be deployed
but DVB-T can. Or said another way, if something
is stopping the distrbution of up to date ATSC
receivers, that same "thing" will also stop DVB-T,
over here that is.

Or said another way, the 6 MHz DVB-T receivers
demoed in 1999 are no more credible than the LG
prototype, because I haven't seen them on store
shelves. Nor were they tested with the loop
antenna sitting on top of the Schubin TV set.
So I'll assume they are also vaporware.

That last is deliberately meant to be an obtuse
argument, by the way, only meant to show
what I mean by consistency.

Also, LG does manage to sell 5th gen STBs when
combined with DirecTV reception, so I guess they
don't mind all that much to "show up" the ATSC
competition. Assuming that is indeed their reason
for contnuing to peddle only obsolete ATSC-only
STBs and PVRs.
