The current FCC is calling for abdication of THEIR ROLE in guaranteeing net

The real question here Bert is whether the FCC is even relevant anymore.
Well, we have been over this many times. They are the spectrum manager, a role
that's definitely needed, and they are to guarantee the neutrality of the
telecoms. Until we have such ample competition that such a role is not needed,
it's needed.
HARDLY ANYONE wants to abandon the fundamental concepts embodied in
Net Neutrality.
Simply not true. The special interests have succeeded in lulling you to sleep,
Craig. I don't even believe that you want to retain net neutrality, Craig. I
have said a ton of times that MVPDs have no culture of neutrality, and you
apparently don't even understand what that means. MVPDs have always been
monopolistic head-end gatekeepers, of necessity in the past, which is entirely
the opposite of how the Internet was intended to be architected. So, if an
MVPD/ISP wants to block an app because they "are not required to be
transparent," as they HAVE already argued in the past, to you, that seems okay.
To me, that can't be allowed.
So, put together that you apparently believe that the FTD Florist is "part and
parcel" of the PSTN, that your bank is "part and parcel" of Cox broadband, that
there's "ample" competition for home broadband service, and that you don't
understand what makes MVPD service non-neutral, I'd say, there isn't much there
to come up with an informed opinion on net neutrality? Eh? Just sayin'.
The vast majority of the public favors GUARANTEES of net neutrality, Craig, if
not absolutely Title II. What would the average joe even know about Title II?
What some blowhard on AM radio might tell him? People do not want just empty
promises. Only a very small minority wants nothing to do with GUARANTEES. And
those would be the special interests and the lunatic paranoid yahoos. The
people are the boss in this country, Craig.
