TOTAL AGREEMENT!
Frankly, I think that ads for prescription drugs should be prohibited.
Ultimately, a doctor must write a prescription; and lab testing may be
necessary before prescribing, or after.
Given the massive increase in drug use in the U.S. in recent decades, AND the
illegal abuse of prescription drugs, the last thing we need is TV ads promoting
drug use.
Well, I thoroughly disagree. The side effects take A LOT more ad time than
whatever the drugs are means to alleviate, and my reaction is to write that
product off. The worst ads ever. Wish they would stop.
It makes you wonder why they spend so much time with the warnings...
Do these warnings help the drug companies avoid legal exposure? Do these
warnings help doctors avoid liability?
It’s kinda like the legal agreements with software - who reads all of that
stuff? The AT&T contract for my new phone was about 10 pages long.
From what I have heard, these ads do drive business for physicians - then
again, the drug companies spend a ton of money promoting their wares to the
doctors too.
