The "just in case" reminded me of the chasses that we made for vacuum-tube
studio equipment in the days of yore. The punch-outs for tube sockets were
labeled with the types of vacuum tube that were to occupy them. The extra
punch-outs were labeled "JIC" just in case further vacuum tubes would be
installed in the equipment later on.

There seemed to be a whiff of rosin smoke in the air.
