An interesting spectrum tutorial from Doug Lung, which questions the value of
the 600 MHz spectrum for wireless data applications. He cites the move to
higher frequencies over time as higher frequencies have potentially greater
capacity for a given channel bandwidth.

So what will the telcos do with the 600 MHz spectrum?

My guess is broadcast LTE using slightly taller towers and wider spacing
between cell sites. Of course this implies that there is still a market for
live broadcasts using some form of multicast technology...
