[opendtv] TV and Emergency Alerts question

I was told that the (US) Emergency Alert tones inserted into a broadcast can
turn on a TV. I asusme that if this is true, it would have to be a receiver
that was never really off.
Anyone know if this capability is real?

You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways:
- Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at
FreeLists.org
- By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word
unsubscribe in the subject line.
