Recycling old poppycock. You can use a tuning dial for the same purpose, Craig. 
This is not a broadband access service, it is a broadcast TV service. In fact, 
even if you want to play your "let's pretend this is Internet," and use IP 
multicast addresses to define each stream, there's still no reason for a 
"return channel." You simply dial in the IP multicast address, within your 
receiver, and receive the stream. There's no need to inform routers upstream 
that you want that program. The bits are broadcast 24/7, regardless. Broadcast 
is NOT two-way service. And pretending that you can share the downstream 
bandwidth for individual streams, to individual different households, does not 
stand up to scrutiny. Do the numbers. I've already shown this on many occasions.

In rural areas it may have sufficient capacity to handle individual
streams.

In rural areas, 600 MHz can be used to create a real, two-way cellular system, 
because cells can be very large. So it's a totally different discussion. We 
aren't playing this nonsensical pretend-game, where broadcast somehow becomes 
Internet broadband access. But where you have high populations densities, 
frequencies that propagate long distances are NOT useful for cellular, two-way 
service. You don’t get enough frequency reuse.

Really? Apparently you have not been paying attention to the usage
statistics for TV Everywhere apps.

Linear broadcast to mobile devices has failed consistently to attract a 
following, Craig. TVE to mobile devices is most likely on demand service, most 
of the time.

Apparently you still believe that TV broadcasters are the ONLY
businesses that have "the right" to spectrum for broadcasting...

I don’t buy disingenuous lies, Craig. The FCC is looking to improve wireless 
broadband service, not to create another OTA TV system.

Nope. Nobody is talking about using the 600 MHz spectrum for
wireless ISPs

You're joking, right? You can't be that confused? That's EXACTLY what the FCC 
is doing.
