What was described is not Internet broadband service. If you're
trying to say that the FCC can grab TV broadcast spectrum and
sell it to the telcos, so the telcos can set up a TV broadcast
service of their own, even in high density markets, hey, I won’t
disagree. Just don’t invent fantasies that you pass off as
Internet broadband service.
How much clearer could I be Bert?
Then let me repeat what you're missing.
The FCC's claimed reason for grabbing 600 MHz spectrum from every market was,
repeat after me, Craig: "To provide the telcos with more spectrum for
**wireless broadband service**." Not for some other reasons you might have
invented. I'll say it again, it was for wireless Internet broadband access.
It took a long time for you to get that 600 MHz spectrum is far from ideal for
this, in congested markets.
Okay, so now Craig plays his change the subject game. Craig says, what if the
telcos grab this spectrum, to create their own TV broadcast service? Well, DUH,
Craig. This was never the intention of the FCC. You don’t provide wireless
Internet broadband access with a one-way broadcast TV system. Broadcast LTE,
like broadcast anything else, IS NOT INTERNET BROADBAND SERVICE.
You cannot hide your complete confusion with loads of words, Craig. The
situation is really very simple. In rural or low density markets, very large
cells possible with 600 MHz spectrum can be viable, FOR TRUE INTERNET BROADBAND
SERVICE. And that spectrum is already available, in those parts. If the FCC
wanted to allow the telcos to develop their own OTA TV one-way broadcast
service, they should have stated this clearly. And let us, the **owners** of
this spectrum, comment.
