My guess is that the program guide provides a listing of VOD programming that 
can be accessed from the station using a broadband connection.

LAS VEGAS-LG Electronics is introducing the first ATSC 3.0-enabled 4K Ultra 
HD TVs to support this year's historic nationwide deployment of the Next-Gen 
TV broadcast standard in South Korea. Starting this spring-in advance of the 
2018 Winter Olympics-new 2017 models of LG 4K Ultra HD TVs and large-screen 
LG smart TVs sold in Korea will have both ATSC 3.0 and ATSC 1.0 tuners, the 
company announced at CES 2017.

Obviously LG has a vested interest in the ATSC 3.0 standard, and they want to 
see it deployed. What better way than to set up the test bed on your home turf 
then use it to broadcast the Olympics to compatible sets around the Olympic 
venues.  Perhaps they expect the South Korean government to mandate the 
standard; clearly they understand that it is not going to be mandated in the 
U.S. and are using the South Korean test bed to help convince U.S. broadcasters 
to voluntarily adopt it. 

This is what happens when an industry - broadcasters - lets another industry - 
CE manufacturers - attempt to drive innovation. It may work out in Korea, and 
other countries that are yet to adopt any advanced television standard. 

Still waiting to see if there are any U.S. broadcasters other than Sinclair 
that care about ATSC 3.0, or broadcasting for that matter - they just want to 
get their content to the MVPD systems and get those retrains dollars...

Bert will likely challenge this, but the reality is that local stations are not 
playing ball with the new streaming MVPD services...

At this point, the only thing that can save broadcasting is removing the 
ownership caps and letting the forward thinking stations (or the networks) pick 
up the pieces and soldier on.
