We had long discussions about the merits of going with DVB-H or T and
opted for T.

My arguments at the time were that battery problems were not best
solved by paying with lots of bits. We stayed with DVB-T in our plans.
Now DMB-TH looks like it may be better. The way it was put to me is
that DMB-TH was as good as DVB-T with DiBcom's diversity technology.
Obviously DMB-TH would be even better with diversity. So I am partial
to DMB-TH  today.

Looks like the market is coming around to our way of thinking.
Ubiquitous reception of bits of higher resolution on all devices
mobile and fixed, non realtime emphasis, massive storage, record
everything, rely on ultra cheap mass storage.

Our thoughts on designing our mobile (think ubiquitous reception)
venture were that storage would approach zero cost and would become
smaller and more solid state, that technology would solve the battery
problems via better batteries, fuel cells and less power hungry chips.
That none of these were our problems and that we should not design for
today's technology but tomorrows. And that is what we told R&S, Nokia
and anyone else we talked to in the DVB Group when discussing DVB-H.

One thing has changed drastically. We were initially thinking in terms
of subscription only. Later a mix weighed to subscription and now
weighted to free.
