Hi John Sorry - but I've no idea as to the specifics of this implementation - full credit to Keith Hayler and the team for pulling this off. What I find to be an overcome challenge is working within the DVB-SI structure, and still permitting local program insertion into the EPG feed. That sounds like some heavy lifting was done -- or a horrible kludge. Of course, the real challenge is dynamic listing features. How quickly can the system respond to a simultaneous schedule change (unrelated) at each station? I'can't emphasis how importnat this is. If it is the system that I think it is - it allows each STB or Display manufacturer to create their own EPG based on the underlying SI information which is agregated from the differnet broadcasters for each multiplex. They retain control of their own look and feel. This has been one of the holy grails for the last 6-8 years, and has been a significant challenge to get the system up and running. More details on= the front page of the dtg.org.uk web site this week. I expect this will have the biggest impact on DTT in the UK as a viable subscription free PV= R business will emerge offering a challenge to Sky+ which remains a niche high-end product. <> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
