We agree. Anamorphic is really a term used to describe optic according to Dictionary.com. "Optics. having or producing unequal magnifications along two axes perpendicular to each other." What we are talking about here is square pixels versus non-square pixels. Since all new displays are moving toward square pixels - equal H & V resolution in the raster that is displayed - the real issue here is the delivery 9encoding) of more information in one axis than the other. At least with progressive scanning, we don;t need to worry about the Kell Factor and other relics from our analog past. Now if we could just get rid of interlace all together...
