I can't speak for others but many manufacturers have not waited around
and have implemented their own ATSC STB firmware update services using
A9x. Which is actually not a bad thing if you bear in mind that part of
the puzzle involves sometimes linking the firmware to receiver IDs that
may be used for encryption systems and a management system to deliver
commands for management, group and steer, support multiple 'brands',
versions, etc.
