Craig made this comment: "Nope. The number of stations is irrelevant. It is the number of homes that these stations reach that establishes the national cap. ... Fox may have more station in smaller markets but they are NOT over the cap." The "irrelevant" number was 10 O&Os for ABC and NBC, compared with 25 for Fox (on and before 2007, when they sold off a few). So does Fox only cover small markets? It looks like no. As I said beofre, they cover the SAME large markets, by and large. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Hinto/US_O&Os Fox O&O 10 biggest markets: New York City - WNYW 5 Los Angeles - KTTV 11 Chicago - WFLD 32 Philadelphia - WTXF-TV 29 Dallas-Fort Worth - KDFW 4 Boston - WFXT 25 Washington, D.C. - WTTG 5 Atlanta - WAGA 5 Houston - KRIV 26 Detroit - WJBK 2 ABC O&O markets total: New York City - WABC-TV 7 Los Angeles - KABC-TV 7 Chicago - WLS-TV 7 Philadelphia - WPVI-TV 6 San Francisco Bay Area - KGO-TV 7 Houston - KTRK-TV 13 Raleigh-Durham - WTVD 11 Fresno - KFSN-TV 30 Flint - WJRT-TV 12 Toledo - WTVG 13 Sorry, no way are the bottom six listed for Fox smaller markets than the bottom six listed for ABC. So if Fox, with 25, is close to the 39 percent limit, no way can NBC and ABC also be close. If ABC was ever close to the limit, it must have sold off a lot of O&Os before 2007.
