BTW, I was debating this past Christmas whether to dedicate a PC for just this purpose, to act as a set-top box for the TV/audio system. As of today, you'd need a keyboard with IR remote to make it work reasonably well. There might be a better way, though, e.g. a way of storing the Internet sites ahead of time, and then selecting them via a more normal TV remote gizmo. Also: If TV ads are annoying, then Internet TV ads are less annoying only because they last about 30 seconds. If Internet ads become minutes long, like regular TV ads, then the simple answer is, use a PVR to store the Internet TV show, or PVR software on the PC itself, and fast forward through the ads. So we will have gone full circle.
