Some level of portable/mobile is already available in the DVB-T world. There are cars for sale in Europe with DVB-T tuners integrated into the DVD entertainment system. There are combo DVD/DVB-T portable units, and a USB DVB-T receiver has a decent chance of working in a portable/mobile environment.
If the chipsets get advanced enough, there will be ATSC versions produced for the U.S. The performance isn't quite there yet, and it may never be.
As good as the LG/Zenith DTT900 STB is, it still doesn't match http://www.viacel.com/bob.wmv

What seems inescapable is that *some level* of portable/mobile is nice to have, e.g. at ball games, camp grounds, etc., so this should get some attention from broadcasters. Even if the "business case" for yet another subscription service isn't there. Bert
