Do we have any credible indication that the percentage is still declining? In Germany it was, until DTT freeview introduction anyway, but here? By the way, I'm not entirely positive what set is considered equivalent to the other, but here are some very interesting numbers from the LG web site. These are all 26" LCD TVs, with identical screen specs, and apparently identical extra image processing bells and whistles. I'm sure some extra digging would uncover the detail differences. (The only difference I could see between the two integrated TVs was that one has a swivel stand.) The integrated sets are also digital cable compatible. Integrated ATSC 26LX2D, 1366 X 768 res, 1200:1 contrast ratio: MSRP $2199.95 Integrated ATSC 26LX1D, 1366 X 768 res, 1200:1 contrast ratio: MSRP $1999.95 HD ready 26LZ30, 1280 X 768 res, unspecified contrast ratio: MSRP $1899.95 The price premium for ATSC may be as low as $100 today, and that's with a screen at least as good as, if not better than, the monitor. In one and a half years, I'll stick with $35.
