Barry; The reception problems in 1999 and today are in the region within about 15 miles of transmitter sites. I can get stations 130 miles away using 8-VSB; I can get stations within 11 miles of my home, and 20 miles away. I can't get stations 3 miles away. When I try reception at a family member's house, I can get all the stations that I cannot receive at home, but I can't get stations just 5 miles away, and I can SEE the transmit site, and I even know that the RF going to this location is rather low. With the newest receiver I have, I get more stations -- at least I get their PSIP -- but the video is blocky at best. The current term of art is "perceived impairments in the signal." That's the FCC's term of art in the report & order in MB Dkt 07-91. Perhaps your friend is too close to the transmitters and needs to reduce the signal level to his set. On Jan 3, 2008, at 11:27 PM, Cliff Benham wrote: > Stephen W.
