And a good reason to save the glass for light bulbs instead of CRTs.

Has anyone done a comparison of the operating power requirements for 
each of the following:

Direct View CRT displays
CRT-based projection
LCD panels
LCD projection
DLP projection

According to the manuals my old CRT-based HD read RP display uses 217 
watts, while my new DLP projection system uses 200 watts.

I suspect that there is a significantly larger difference between a 
26" CRT display and a 26" LCD panel.

Are CRTs responsible for global warming?

;-)

Hint: we generate significantly more greenhouse gases to power our 
homes than our automobiles.
