Well, I guess you'd: 1) have to know whether ts_reader is telling you the
screen aspect ratio or the display aspect ratio, wouldn't you?, and 2) you'd
have to look at the resulting video on a device set to native resolution,
just to make sure.

What is your experience with Ts Reader? Does it report in video parameters
the sar or the dar?

However, your argument is that KUSI is 720x480. Is that a 16:9 display
format, or a 4:3 one? Hint: I mentioned stretched video; perhaps Fred
didn't see that.

That's not 16:9

That's not 16:9 either.

Three for three, John, that's not 16:9.

Look, another one that's not 16:9

Consistent, not 16:9

Wow, how exciting, yet another that's not 16:9.

Look, ma, no 16:9!

Shall we assume no 16:9 here, either?

Not 16:9, John.

Wait, don't tell me. No 16:9?

Darn, I thought we had a winner, but alas, no 16:9

There's a glimmer of hope for a 704x480i 16:9 stream yet, then.

In native 16:9?

I'm sure you have, but were those 704 streams native 16:9?

Well, Fred Swift, assistant Chief Engineer (you should know that, John) says
it's 720p at 16:9.

No, John, you have proven yet again that you did not read, understand, or
comprehend my point.

So far, John, you have confirmed my prediction without a single exception.
So far, John, if as you asserted "practical use" means more than zero
broadcasters, so far there is no practical use of 704x480i30 at native 16:9
out there. Thanks for the confirmation.

John

You may deal in facts, but you can't read worth a damn.

John Shutt, who said that 704x480i in native 16:9 is not used.
