There is a clear, well-defined upgrade path for computer users, so VC9, VC-1
is complementary to WM-10.

Also, you failed to note that WM-10 only works on Windows XP. Note the
"upgrade path" phrasing above. Me, I use Win 2k.

The actual codecs might not have changed, I don't
know whether they have or not, but I note that
Microsoft is beyond WM9 already. WM10 is out.

Possibly, Microsoft will obsolete its own WM9
codecs before they have a chance to even become
an industry standard?

Others believe that political infighting might make VC-1 a
short-lived, interim industry standard that eventually gives
way to H.264/MPEG-4 AVC.
