I should point out that the "new" codec that ships in the Windows Media 10 Player is VC-1, also known as the "Advanced Profile" of Windows Media 9. =20 WM10 does not obsolete the SMPTE submission ... it's actually the first commercial release of the codec as submitted to SMPTE.
