In spite of the incessant moaning about govt programs, sometimes that's
what it takes to get everyone off their behinds. In this case, that
would primarily be the CE vendors. The same heppened in Germany, when
local govts there set immediate and hard deadlines.

Apparently, response to the coupon program has been huge. Just as
happened in Germany, this might make people try DTT out, even if they
remain tethered to systems that keep on taking. The price sure is right.
Germans had to deal with $200 STBs initially, looks like here they will
be either free, or maybe cost $60 (non-coupon-compliant) with built-in
PVR. Still an incredibly good deal.

Digital FOTA radio seems to be doing fine too.
