I can possibly use PC with my TV but my wife will not. But with iPad I can browse the web while watching TV then airplay the content to my TV through AppleTV. Majority of consumers are not that sophisticated they need a ready to go portal with everything embedded and ready to go. Craig wrote: "Mike is right on the mark here. "First there is the level of user sophistication needed to make a set-up like Bert's work. Not to mention the human interface considerations - can Bert control everything from his couch without the need for a keyboard and mouse?" But it is getting much easier. Most modern TVs and many computers now have HDMI ports. Simply connect one cable and I have full connectivity from my laptop to the TV. The keyboard and mouse are built in and I can even carry my laptop from location to location. I am also surprised to see how many are using Network Attached Storage devices to store and stream media to their modern TVs. I've never taken the time to do it at my own house but I have visited several non-technical friends that have set it up on their own. As expected, the technology is getting much easier and I suspect that there will be some technologies that will be clear breakouts. It seems to me that there is a lot of potential to disrupt the current trends. Dan
