I think you are mistaken about news going HD. The vast majority of local news is still 4:3 interlaced SD. And the major growth area for "news" is viewer created content shot mostly on cell phones...

Clearly the vendors at NAB are searching for something to get excited about...

On a related subject, the NAB just released attendance figures - about 88,000.

These numbers are typically inflated, so what's the real story from your perspective.

Is this another dying trade show, or did you (and the rest of the folks there) find something to get excited about?
