I'm glad to see articles like this one, which show that the broadcasters are
still experimenting with multicast content. It's not inconceivable to me that
the multicast channels, some of the time, might even get more eyeballs than the
.1 subchannel. Why not? The mix has certainly gotten better over the years, IMO.

One curious thing is our Mundo Fox Spanish subchannel of our Fox O&O here. They
transmit movies that are often more recent than those on ThisTV or GetTV, they
are sometimes American flicks dubbed into Spanish. So hey guys, does Fox forget
that ATSC has options for multiple language sound tracks? It's not like it
would cost more, after the show has been dubbed into Spanish, to also transmit
the original English sound track, right?

For that matter, even the original Spanish-language shows, why not transmit
them with an English soundtrack? They might actually get a few more eyeballs?

I do occasionally watch some of the older TV shows on these subchannels. My
problem is, with few exceptions like Perry Mason or some of the Star Treks
(beginnning with Next Generation), they make me painfully aware of how much TV
has progressed from even the 1970s and 1980s. Better writing, better acting,
better special effects, and unless they are using some sort of
remastered-from-the-35mm version of the old show, much better image quality.
(It's fun to notice the primitive and crude props on some of those old,
original Star Treks, evidently remastered from 35mm film.)
