Perhaps the MediaFlo guys/gals can answer. Is local content insertion
(...whatever that means to you...) a possibility? And if so....
Well perhaps I don't understand the MediaFlo "physical" and "transport"
layers. If you have a 'seamless' "NATIONWIDE" service, how can you 'do'
different bits in different parts of the country? Not saying you can't 'do'
different bits, I am implying that at some point there has to be a 'break'
(or is that BRAKE??? ;-) ) in the service. You can not 'mesh' the bitstream
with different contents (at least in no way that I know...), or can you?

P.S. By the way, at least two Qualcomm (and I assume MediaFlo) engineers if
not executives are on this list. I believe I've even met one face-to-face
(although I didn't let on that I 'knew.')

Really? The effective resolution of NTSC is 320 x 240 at 60 fields per
second. With good de-interlacing, I would suggest that these streams
will come close to equaling NTSC quality, however, that is irrelevant
since we are talking about displays in handsets. Apple started the
iTunes video service at this resolution, and the stuff looks fine when
output to an interlaced TV. But the LPTV guys could deliver something
like 640 x 480 @ 60P which would be significantly higher quality than
NTSC, perhaps with a 320 x 240 base layer.
NTSC is 'effectively' 320 x 240? Really?
This argument must be tempered with reality. People are consuming vast
amounts of video content via the Internet, most of which is less than
NTSC quality. It is all driven by applications and competition. Mobile
Tv does not need to equal the family room viewing experience.
