Matsushita mulls PDP expansion, mum on details

TOKYO, May 17 (Reuters) - Matsushita Electric Industrial Co
Ltd (TOKYO:6752), the maker of Panasonic products, said on Monday it
planned to boost its output capacity for plasma display panels
(PDP) but details had yet to be decided.
The comments come one day after the Nihon Keizai Shimbun
business daily said Matsushita and Toray Industries Inc (TOKYO:3402)
would invest a combined 90 billion yen ($786 million) to build
the world's biggest PDP factory and quadruple output.
