A segment of today's MVPD industry is holding to a now meaningless

that's historic!

And holding on to "linear streams," both Craig and the FCC, is equally
meaningless. As we have seen. It is now less than half of TV viewing, as
reported by two sources I just posted, and losing popularity every passing
month.

Obviously the cable industry does not want the FCC to update the
definition

I already explained that to you, Craig. No need to repeat it back to me.

Do you see Dish Networks telling the FCC that a MVPD must be
facilities based?

Of course not, Craig, and I explained to you many times why this makes Sling TV
different from MVPDs. But nor is Dish begging the FCC for any special favors,
like a new definition of MVPD. That's the important point, which you miss. Dish
went ahead, asking no questions to the FCC, no favors, nothing.

We already know what a VMVPD service is,

Nope. You just finished saying it's not defined.

Yes, linear streams from multiple content sources has been the
basis of the definition for decades.

Nope. "Channels," not "linear streams," and "channels" also carry VOD.

Linear streams are what the FCC is regulating with the program
access rules and the local-into-local rule for broadcast
stations. The FCC does not require every cable, Fios or DBS
service to offer VOD,

The FCC is falling behind on this, just as you are, Craig. But the important
point is, the CEOs don't care. They are acting on their own self-interests, and
they have understood quite well that online, on demand, unwalled, are where
they need to go. So like I said many times, the linear stream requirement is
simple anachronistic and becoming more and more irrelevant.
