Read it again, and show me where that stat applies only to Millennials. It
does not. Millennials do watch less linear TV, though. Only 39% to their TV
consumption is linear, 1 1/2 years ago.
How about the first paragraph:
According to new research from Hub Entertainment Research “Time Shifting”
viewers, who have broadband and watch at least 5 hours of TV per week,
time-shift more TV than they watch live. The average viewer says that 47% of
the TV shows they watch are live and 53% are time-shifted. Among Millennials,
time shifting is even more common. Viewers 16-34 say that only 39% of the TV
they watch in a typical week is live.
Please note the qualifications in the language:
- "Time shifting" viewers who have broadband and watch at least five hours of
TV per week...
- then the stats on Millennials...
Please explain who they are talking about here. Then explain the next paragraph:
Most time-shifted viewing still happens through a set top box, says the
report. Together, DVRs (34%) and VOD from a pay TV provider (19%) account for
more than half of all time-shifted viewing. The study explores the usage and
drivers of four main categories
What does "Most time-shifted viewing still happens through a set top box" mean
Bert?
So it's now slightly in favor of streaming now. Again it depends
on the demographic group.
That's *specifically* why, when I give the numbers, I always make sure that
they are averages overall. Millennials only make the changes more pronounced.
No you select poorly documented surveys, then can't even understand what they
say.
All of this only to make the point that no one is waiting around "for years"
to make streaming possible for the masses. Streaming is already possible for
the masses, and will only become more so, year by year, as the masses change
their habits.
Yes anyone can stream, as I am doing as I write this. But that does not mean we
are anywhere close to everyone streaming everything.

Craig
P.S. I had to authenticate Watch ESPN again on all of my devices. The process
is more sophisticated this year. For Apple TV I had to go to a website and
enter a verification code on another device before it would work.
