I agree. The PVR is an end product rather than an adjunct to the TV display.

Are PVRs considered to be STBs? I expected that decision
to apply to the sort of bare bones STBs that will end up
being exteremely price competitive. Not to PVRs.

If they include PVRs in the no-5th-gen decision, it's a
bit like the 40 year old virgin. You have to ask yourself,
"what are they saving it for?"
