Wow, blast from the past. When we ran datacasting demos at KLVX for NAB '00 & '01 (IIRC, years could have been '01 and '02) ;-), they were talking about replacing ITFS with a datacasting system and hooking in the rest of the PBS stations in Nevada. Not sure what became of that idea. Schools seem to be turning off the idea of using datacasting nowadays though in favor of CDN-based content delivery of QT, Flash and WM live and VOD content (we get quite a lot of this business at our CDN). It's cheaper, easier to setup, and you have the benefit of dropping a WM/QT/Flash server at each site and just configuring it to sync content from the CDN periodically for a local edge cache.
