Irvine, Calif. - Humax USA is shipping the HFA100 ATSC Digital TV Tuner at a
$229 suggested retail price.

The set-top box will receive standard- and high-definition terrestrial DTV
broadcast signals for display on DTV-capable monitors.

Humax said the HFA100 was designed for simplicity of operation. It includes an
on-screen set-up guide, seven-day electronic program guide (EPG), automatic
channel scan that identifies and assigns all available HDTV channels into the
unit's memory, direct channel access and aspect ratio, and parental lockout
controls.

It will receive all DTV broadcast signals outlined in the Advanced Television
Systems Committee standard, and will convert that signal to match the display
needs of most DTV monitors. Selectable output resolution includes 1,080i, 720p
and 480p.

For multichannel audio, the HFA100 includes a Dolby Digital optical output for
connection to Dolby Digital processors, surround sound amplifiers or receivers.
Video output connections include Component Video, RGB and HDMI with HDCP.

"The HFA100 is a viable, economical alternative for these households to now
enjoy the stunning visual and sonic clarity of the many HDTV programs being
broadcast in their area - and with no monthly fees," said Tony Goncalves, Humax
USA's strategic marketing business development VP.

Another key feature of HFA100 is simultaneous digital HD and Analog (S-Video)
output for multiroom and/or multiset display of content. This will allow
viewers
to view a program in high-definition and record it in standard-definition using
a VCR or DVD recorder.
