No, Craig. You have a habit of driving arguments into the ditch, because you 
make a habit of circular reasoning. With IP distribution, you do not need a 
proprietary middle box at all, as I said. At most, at home, you need a modem. 
To watch IP content on a TV set, same thing. That's why I asked if you had ever 
heard of connected TVs.

If you already knew about connected TVs, then you should have gone back and 
erased the pointless argument. There are any number of IP appliances that don't 
require any STB, or do you go around carrying an STB with your smartphone, 
Craig?

Let's see. TVE uses IP, but it still requires the user to rent a cable box and 
to have an MVPD subscription. Even though the appliances he uses to view the 
content don't require proprietary STB or non-neutral infrastructures. So, both 
schemes force the IP appliance user to retain the rented proprietary box and to 
retain a subscription to a non-neutral infrastructure. In both cases, theis is 
THE goal.

And Craig claims they are nothing alike.

Because they are not Hail Mary's.
