I should expand on this slightly:

broadcaster) is totally irrelevant today. The conglom deals only with some CDN
or other."
Often the congloms deal with aggregation sites, such as Amazon, Netflix, etc.
In such cases, those aggregation sites in turn deal with their own CDNs. Point
being, everyone has a definite role to play.
