I lived on Long Island until we moved to Florida in 1959. My mother listened to
opera all the time...often singing along. I also listened to many of the
Metropolitan Opera radio broadcasts sponsored by Texaco in the '50s. And one of
the female Met performers lived in our neighborhood - sorry, I can't remember
her name.
