Honestly, this is the most cogent comment:

"It's embarrassing watching telecom shills in these committee votes attempt to
turn this into a partisan issue when it's actually quite simple: no one wants
their cable company to control what they can see and do on the Internet, or
manipulate where they get their news, how they listen to music, or what apps
they can use," Deputy Director Evan Greer of advocacy group Fight for the
Future said.

Just because someone is a Republican in Congress, this should not automatically
result in a frontal lobotomy, accompanied by rank stupidity, and/or blatant
corruption in public office. In no way is this a partisan issue, and the very
vast majority of citizens comprehend that much.

Here is an example of rank stupidity:

"Greg Walden (R-Ore.) claimed that the Democrats' bill 'is not the net
neutrality that people want" and is "actually more government socialism,'"

In what universe is a guarantee of telecom neutrality "socialism"? Does he even
know what socialism means? Why not go a step further, and claim that net
neutrality is "rape." Idiots might latch onto that kind of hype.

And here is an example of where congressional Republicans fit, these days:

"Polls showed that the FCC's repeal was opposed by most Americans: 'Eighty-six
percent oppose the repeal of net neutrality, including 82 percent of
Republicans and 90 percent of Democrats,' the Program for Public Consultation
at the University of Maryland reported last year after surveying nearly 1,000
registered voters."

So, Congress seems infested with a special brand of formula-spouting lemmings,
just reciting what they're told to recite, mind strictly in neutral, and
shirking their job as representatives of the people.

That the FCC also shirks its responsibility is simply not to be tolerated.
Instead of wasting time with their corrupt ways, congressional Republicans
should be explaining to Trump that net neutrality HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH the
"fairness doctrine."
