Here you go, Craig. The French version of CNN just made the switch. They get it!

Get What?

That a significant percentage of the population in France has upgraded to widescreeen panel display and that it's time to get with the program and start filling those screens, rather than delivering 4:3 pillarbox?

Just looked at a few forums, and the Europeans also wonder why this has taken so long. They could have gone widescreen SD a decade ago. Even CNN in the U.S. has only been widescreen HD for about 3 years.

From the looks of it, French CNN will still be SD, but they are now going to move to widescreen to prepare for an HD future.

Apparently they GOT IT back in the '90s and realized that there was no rush to move to widescreen when most people had 4:3 CRT displays.

Craig
