In the video realm, HDMI could become a requirement for certain content, so a year 2000 receiver with updatable CODEC could still become a paperweight. A more expensive paperweight. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Craig Birkmaier" <craig@xxxxxxxxx> To: <opendtv@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, June 13, 2005 9:00 AM Subject: [opendtv] Re: First look at ATSC HD Broadcast > At 11:54 AM -0400 6/12/05, John Golitsis wrote: >>Well, I can decode 5.1 AC-3 audio on my laptop, but I can only output 2 >>channels. > > And your point is? > ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
