Mostly things we have already seen. Except this one new item:
"The agency is expected to approve the rollback at its next meeting given the
Republican majority, but the issue is likely to end up in court yet again. A
federal appeals court upheld the current net neutrality rules in June 2016,
siding with the FCC against a challenge from AT&T, USTelecom and other industry
trade groups. This time, it's likely to be net neutrality advocates taking the
agency to court.
"The move could also re-ignite interest in legislation to codify net neutrality
rules, which Republican lawmakers and ISPs have pushed for this year. Some FCC
watchers believe Pai's dismantling of the rules could bring Democrats to the
table to negotiate a legislative solution to the debate."
Like I thought, the FCC could well be taken to court, if they insist on
pursuing this. Also, with the enormous majority favoring net neutrality, and
more specifically, a very solid majority favoring RULES TO ENSURE net
neutrality, just how much formula-spouting emptyheads would Republicans have to
be, to ignore their constituents? It's more than just bleeding heart liberals
who get this stuff.
I especially like this part:
"The FCC will look to another agency, the Federal Trade Commission, to police
whether internet service providers are acting in an anti-competitive manner.
"An FCC spokesman declined comment on the plan."
Heh heh. I'd be embarrassed too.
