The FCC is considering that extension to 40 miles, get it? It would help if you 
informed yourself FIRST, then attempt to argue. Look how long it is taking to

Read it, this time. As I said, nothing could be further from your notion of 
"gap fillers." The NPRM, revised to allowing one FM translator to reach 40+ 
miles especially, is simply a solution which says, "convert AM stations to FM."

What happens when you drive down the Interstate and move from one
market to another?

At night, with a decent digital signal on the MW band (medium wave band being 
the band currently used by AM radio, Craig), the signal would travel quite far. 
Another option, which might work depending what you're listening to, is to tune 
to the next station along the way that carries the same program.

As I said, as written now, the NPRM is a good way to make the MW band 
worthless. But instead, that MW band could easily be revitalized. I wonder how 
long it will take to get that really simple and obvious message across to Craig.
