Why bother?

HDMI provides an ideal physical interface to the big screen. It is interesting that the new Mac Mini now sports the HDMI connection. Look for a new Apple TV this fall that may bring the Internet to the big screen at a very attractive price.

More important, however, is that the wireless component of the family room of the future is already in place. Its called Wi Fi. And millions of mobile devices are being deployed that will become the remote controls and game controllers for the converged TV/Internet.
