http://www.broadbandtvnews.com/2013/01/07/eutelsat-launches-europes-first-4k-channel/ According to a (french) article here: http://www.broadbandtvnews.com/2013/01/07/eutelsat-launches-europes-first-4k-channel/ It would be quad HD at 50p using 40 Mbps with MPEG4 (surely, they mean H.264). An eutelsat pdf file is available here: http://www.eutelsat.com/news/media_library/brochures/Ultra-HD-Book.pdf But no real detail on this particular brodcast. However, it also states that they are considering five 50p UHD channels on a 36 Mhz transponder using HEVC in the future, each of them with a bitrate close to current HD broadcasts. This assumes the use of a DVB-S3 "standard". I'll put links for that in a separate post. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
