Imagine that!
Another standards battle to entrench intellectual property and create new
royalty streams...
At least for now the marketplace can decide, but this will likely slow the
growth of the 4K market.
As I just said:
I may well have said at some point that there are multiple proposals for the
HDR standard. I might even have said that the winner is looking to cash in on
the royalties.. But I did not fabricate any of the posts above...r
The post above was in response to the EE Times article you posted. You did not
comment about it in that post, nor did you comment as you claim to my response.
And you never claimed you were waiting for HDR.
My comment in January was not negative. Just an acknowledgement of the facts,
and that this would likely delay the availability of TVs that make the
investment in 4K worthwhile.
You then responded with the comments about the immediate value of oversampling
to which I responded on 1/29. i.e. "Oversampling is good, but HDR is the major
breakthrough. Then I explained why.
