I'm often annoyed by 24P sampling reproduced on video displays with 3:2
judder and other artifacts, but I think it can look quite good if
handled properly (such as encoded and transferred as 24P and updated in
the display in an optimal way for the particular display technology,
with accurate temporal and spatial registration.). 24P content
displayed at 72P looks a lot better on a CRT or other display.

Most movies look good to me in movie theaters (they're shot that way,
triple blade, low light, etc.). Future electronic displays will
probably make improvements (most of the time) with motion interpolation
and inter-multiple update frequencies.=20

I'd rather watch a football or basketball game sampled at 72Hz.

Hey, I didn't say they must make it illegal, only that I find it very=20
annoying. (And no longer necessary for technical and economic reasons)

While it may currently be a director's choice for aesthetic reasons I'd=20
be surprised if directors are still doing that 20-30 years from now.

24p will join film grain and monochrome as a cute effect to be used for=20
flashbacks and dreams.

If we really want to annoy people and remind them it is only a fantasy=20
then we might as well just put a crawling ticker on the bottom that says
so.
