Over sampling during acquisition (say 1280 by 720p60 for example), proper
down-conversion to 720 x 48x, good encoding of the progressive program
stream, and up sampling to 720+P at the screen end of the pipe looks pretty
darned good.

Why, Craig? Didn't you tell us forever that 480p is plenty? I would think
480p in any ole HDTV would provide all of the oversampling you could
possibly want. ;)
