I fundamentally agree with your position but, unfortunately, the time has long passed when our current course could change. The best we can hope for is that manufacturers can be somehow motivated to improve 8VSB receiver performance using readily available hardware. Such an upgrade would enable performance in the Zenith "cold fusion" category. We must be pragmatic, this is about as good as it will get any time soon and that will likely be good enough for a reasonable start. However, I?m not optimistic. Were the CE manufacturers interested in a successful OTA DTV transition, these features would be in place in our current equipment. Hopefully the FCC can make that happen but I wont hold my breath. Introduction of government subsidized converter boxes is our next major milestone, perhaps that will rekindle this debate, assuming that the boxes are problematic. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
